Ukrainian Fashion Week with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation presents the third story Action: Sustainable Fashion - BEVZA
Sustainable development of fashion includes many aspects and is a process of continuous improvement. Accumulating work experience, designers, inspired by the philosophy of sustainability, are constantly finding innovative solutions to create their collections. Today, the practice of using completely environmentally friendly materials is a real challenge for fashion brands, due to the high price and relatively small selection of fabrics on the market. However, the gradual transformation of the brand in this direction is an integral part of the process of creating a responsible future for the industry.
The Bevza brand creates a future of conscious consumption with new values of beauty.
Ethical attitude to nature and production is one of the fundamental values of the company's team. The brand believes that fashion should not exist at the cost of life on our planet. Focusing on sustainable design ideas, Bevza's new collections are based on a combination of style, elegance and ethical production.
The brand was created by designer Svitlana Bevza in 2006. The iconic design of Bevza immediately manifested itself in clean and light silhouettes. Each collection reflects a sense of timeless sophistication, focusing on elegant fabrics and a perfect fit. And the main landmark of beauty for Bevza is elegance and consistency.
Today Bevza is one of the most recognizable names in the world of the Ukrainian fashion industry, as well as one of the most successful Ukrainian brands.
In 2018, the brand's team created the FW19 collection, which includes today's well-known ecological down jackets with a realistic animalistic print that resembles real fur. They have become an alternative to natural fur coats. First, Bevza down jackets offered an ironic look at the culture of fur consumption. Second, things are made from environmentally friendly materials such as viscose and recycled polyester. And to create prints, the brand team used non-toxic dyes.
In the FW20 collection, which was presented at New York Fashion Week, the designer used innovative textures from recycled materials. Knitted dresses and tops are made of polyester made from plastic bottles assembled on the ocean floor, while other special models are made from recycled denim.
All knitwear selected for the collection was approved by the Institute of Ethics and Environmental Certification (ICEA), as well as RCS100. Advances in the textile industry have made it possible to achieve the highest quality products that were previously unattainable. Therefore, the mission declared by the Bevza brand - to create a future of conscious consumption with new values of beauty - is close and realistic.
